Company Rebrand wins 2014 ADCD award

October 7, 2014

ADCD Brand

Cinearc Creative Agency was awarded a 2014 Art Directors Club of Denver Award for Design — Brand Development on the rebranding of Clarkson Creative last year.

Charles Hellwig and their designers took the lead on overall brand design, logo, website, and further marketing promotion. Throughout the process, the team at Clarkson Creative was able to use our history and creative thoughts to inspire the overall direction of the rebranding.

From the initial layout, our staff was then able to create our own business cards, shoot all necessary production photos, and build our portfolio so that it all matched the overarching new brand design.

Congrats to Cinearc on this high honor!

Cover shoot wins gold Tabbie award

July 2, 2013

Clarkson photographer, Stephen Nowland, was awarded the gold medal for magazine cover photography for the Tabbie Magazine awards for his work on the Summer 2012 NCAA Champion Magazine.

The magazine article, On Course to Succeed, showcases University of Washington golfer Cheng-Tsung Pan and his success in college as well as his goals for the pros.

Below are the judging comments from the Tabbie award panel:

“A very strong photograph and appealing cover. The perspective down the
aisle and contrast of his purple shirt is nice. It has a warm and friendly
look and feel to it. Having the shot in a collegiate setting versus a golf
course was a good move. Fantastic photo in a unique setting! Grabs your
attention and makes you want to know more.”

Clarkson Final Four

March 8, 2013

March Madness this year will mark the 75th anniversary of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships — the Final Four.  The individual who had attended, and covered with cameras, more Final Fours than anyone else is our boss Rich Clarkson.
Rich’s work is chronicled in a story and 12 pages of pictures in Sports Illustrated which is on newsstands now.
Sports Illustrated writer Lars Anderson tells of Rich’s first basketball championship while a freshman at the University of Kansas.  His portrait of newly-arrived basketball star Wilt Chamberlain was his first published photograph in Sports Illustrated and led to the first of many assignments that spans 59 years.
Rich will be courtside April 6-8 for this year’s Final Four — his 59th tournament.
Along the way, Rich has  become friends with many of the nation’s basketball coaches ranging from Dr. Forrest C. “Phog” Allen, the Kansas coach when he attended KU, to Bob Knight, John Wooden, Mike Krzyzewski, Dean Smith and Ted Owens.
Another accomplishment on a list that never seems to end.  Below is a link to the SI article, it is worth getting out and buying a copy!
We are all very proud to have been a part of a handful of them!
